Your role

We are looking for a (Senior) Accountant (all genders) to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for posting financial documents for our companies and ensuring that our books are maintained accurately.

Together with the existing accounting team, you will help ensure that all necessary payments across the business are processed and recorded correctly. The use of modern software solutions helps us streamline and accelerate our processes. You will play a central role within the company and collaborate closely with colleagues across all departments.

Your mission

  • You review and post all business transactions in DATEV.
  • You are responsible for accurately recording accounts receivable and accounts payable and support fixed asset and bank accounting.
  • You monitor incoming payments and are responsible for preparing payment runs.
  • You submit advance VAT returns and accommodation tax declarations.
  • You perform reconciliations for general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and intercompany accounts.
  • You handle preparatory activities and support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB).
  • You process and post credit card statements via Pleo.
  • You proactively optimise processes, including by increasing the level of digitalisation.

Your profile

  • You have completed a commercial or business-related vocational training programme and have at least three years of professional experience in accounting.
  • You have knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the German Value Added Tax Act (UStG).
  • You have experience working with DATEV accounting software.
  • Ideally, you have completed further training to become an IHK-certified accountant (Geprüfte:r Bilanzbuchhalter:in).
  • You are confident using MS Office, particularly Excel, and are open to working in a digital environment.
  • You work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities, while also being a strong team player who enjoys thinking beyond your immediate area of responsibility.
  • You have an eye for improvement opportunities and are motivated to shape and advance your area of responsibility.
  • You have German language skills at C1 level and good written and spoken English skills at B1 level.
  • You use digital tools with ease, recognise their potential, and are enthusiastic about how AI can make everyday work more efficient.
